His name has been trending as more and more fans tell him a happy birthday while celebrating their favorite roles. Will Mr. T Reprise the Role of Clubber Lang?
The dastardly Clubber Lang in Rocky III remains one of Mr. T’s most popular roles, even though he played the bad guy in the movie. There have been Rumors of the actor reprising the role for one of the Creed movies, and that would make sense as they have already brought back Sylvester Stallone and Dolph Lundgren as Rocky Balboa and Ivan Drago, respectively. However, Mr. T told PopCulture.com last year that he would feel too “awkward” Revisiting that role, Casting doubt is a possible return.
“Well, I be feeling kind of awkward,” Mr. T explained. “It’d be too weird. See, I’m Clubber for Rocky if Rocky was there. So, it just, yeah, I don’t know. I’d be feeling weird and stuff like that. My best part is just supporting it. “
Adding that he still enjoys the Creed Films, he added, “I like that Rocky was in his corner training and then stuff like that. And then I was joking with people because the movie is called Creed; I like to think I had something to do with it. Because you remember in Rocky III, when Apollo came in my corner, he wanted to shake my hand. I said, ‘Jump, Creed, jump.’ So, I was laughing when everybody tells him. I said, ‘I started the Creed thing.’ So, I called Apollo Creed instead of Apollo. I said, ‘Jump, I don’t want to be messing with my coat on. Come on, Creed. ‘”
One way or another, it’d be wonderful for fans to see him back on the screen again sometime soon. Happy 70th birthday to Mr. T!
