A woman in the US has created a stir online after saying she had to break the news to her husband’s mistress that he had died.
In a TikTok clip, Bridgette Davis, 36, filmed herself with the caption: “When your husband of 10 years dies and you have to tell his mistress,” followed by an image of a text exchange she’d had with the other woman . ”

“F ** k. I can’t believe this, ”the first text back from the mistress read.
“I can’t, I’m losing it. I can’t do this again. He promised me. ”
The mum of two, from Cincinnati, revealed in a series of follow-up clips that the mistress had asked for the location of her husband’s grave, but she wouldn’t tell her.
“Can I go to where he is buried?” the mistress asked.
Bridgette simply wrote back: “No.”
She explained to her TikTok followers that her husband of 10 years had taken his own life in 2018 after a battle with bipolar disorder.
She was aware that her husband had been seeing someone else before he died.
The videos have had more than 16 million views, with some followers saying Bridgette should let the other woman know where her husband was buried so she could pay her respects.
“She lost a love too. He wrecked your relationship, not her, ”one person wrote.
“And what about the trauma the other lady will have by never being able to say Goodbye?” wrote another.
“A heartache is a heartache and a grief is a grief.”
“First, I’m sorry for your loss and that your man betrayed your trust,” said a third.
“Second, we don’t own anybody and if she wants she can go to his grave and say goodbye.”
But many others said the mistress was callous for asking where she was buried so she could visit his grave.
“AND SHE STEPS IF SHE COULD GO THIS PLOT? I swear some people can’t read a room, ”one person wrote.
One follower even Accused Bridgette of making the story up and another said she was being “mean” to the other woman.
“Seems like you texted her just so you could be mean to her and not let her go visit,” they wrote.
“Either be nice or move on.”
Bridgette said the other woman knew she was in a relationship with a married man.
“You know he was my husband for 10 years right?” she had texted the woman.
“That we have two amazing kids together that I homeschool?”
“Yes. I know about a lot of things, ”the other woman wrote back.
“He needed support, (he) told me him and I were Peas in a pod.”
Bridgette went on to reveal that she and her husband were living separately at the time he died but he had told her he wanted to Reconcile with her.
Bridgette also posted a series of longer videos explaining the background of her husband’s mental illness, Addressing the accusations that she made the story up.
In a heart-wrenching series of clips she talks about watching her husband become a different person and finding out that she was seeing another woman.
She also talks tearfully about the moment the police knocked on her front door to tell her her husband had died.
“I’m so sorry you and your girls went through this,” one person wrote.
“You should be proud of yourself for being strong and posting your story,” another wrote.
“Not all of us have that Courage and whether you know it or not, it helps others.”
Another simply wrote: “This breaks my heart.”
